Joffrey Ballet Building, Chicago
Contemporary Interior

Before:

Jetset Designs created a sophisticated and stylish modern interior for a couple who had sold a suburban home to purchase a condo in downtown Chicago. Their original furnishings were oversized and overstuffed and simply did not work in the smaller contemporary space. The existing space planning also had most of their furniture placed against the exterior window walls paying little attention to their key focal point – the outstanding view of the city skyline.

After:

A cool, contemporary color scheme of blue and brown rounded out by the use of dining chairs in warm orange complete the complementary color scheme. Furniture with a smaller scale and clean lines was a necessity. A change to the space plan was made by pulling the furniture off of the window walls and to the center of the room to embrace the exterior view. The console table behind the sectional sofa helps to define and separate the living and dining areas. A large mirror leaning at the end of a long hallway gives the illusion of more abundant space. The icing on the cake is a striking 30” x 60” piece of contemporary art flanking the main seating area.
